Priest Information and Changes

Here’s a list of the upcoming changes for Priests in Warlords of Draenor.

Specializations

New spec specializations were added for each class. These are buffs to specific secondary stats.

Level 100 talents

  • Discipline
    • Clarity of Will (5600 mana, 2.5 sec cast): Shields the target with a protective ward, absorbing X damage within 20 second.
    • Words of Mending (Passive): Your healing and shielding spell grants you a stack of Word of Mending. When you gain 5 stacks of Word of Mending, your next target healing or shielding spell also casts a Prayer of Mending at them.
    • Saving Grace (14160 mana, Instant): Instantly heals a friendly target for X. Reduces your healing done by 10% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 10 times.
  • Holy
    • Clarity of Purpose (5600 mana, 2.5 sec cast: Heals allies within 10 yards of the target for X, split such that more injured targets will receive a larger portion of the healing. replaces Prayer of Healing.)
    • Words of Mending (Passive: Your healing and shielding spell grants you a stack of Word of Mending. When you gain 5 stacks of Word of Mending, your next target healing or shielding spell also casts a Prayer of Mending at them.)
    • Saving Grace (14160 mana, Instant): Instantly heals a friendly target for X. Reduces your healing done by 10% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 10 times.
  • Shadow
    • Clarity of Power (Passive): Your Mind Spike, Mind Sear, and Shadow Word: Death deals 40% additional damage to targets not affected by your Shadow Word: Pain or Vampiric Touch. Casting Mind pike also restores 5% mana and reduces the cooldown of Mind Blast by 1 sec.
    • Void Entropy (Up to 3 Shadow Orbs, 1.5 sec cast): Consumes up to 3 Shadow Orbs to deal up to X Shadow damage every 3 sec for 1 min.
    • Auspicious Spirits (Passive): Your Shadowy Apparitions grant you 1 Shadow Orb instead of dealing damage.

Talent and Mastery Changes

The level 15 and level 60 rows have changed. The survivability talents with Desperate Prayer and Angelic Bulwark are accessible at level 15 while the crowd control talents with Void Tendrils and Psychic Scream are now on level 60.

Void Tendrils

  • Summons Shadowy tendrils out of the ground, rooting up to 5 enemy targets within 8 yards of the caster for 20 sec. Killing the tendril will cancel the effect. Damage dealt to the rooted target is now also dealt to the Void Tendril itself.

Psychic Scream is now a level 60 talent, replacing Psyfiend

  • The caster lets out a psychic scream, causing 5 enemies within 8 yards to flee for 8 sec. Damage caused may interrupt the effect.

Psyfiend itself has been removed from the game.

Level 90 Priest talents (Halo, Divine Star, and Cascade) can no longer heal allies for Shadow Priests, or damage enemies for Discipline or Holy Priests. In addition, Halo and Divine Star have AoE capping rules (it will heal for a full amount for a certain number of targets and heal for less if the number of targets is exceeded).

The behaviour of Angelic Feathers has been tweaked: Angelic Feathers, if cast on players, will always prefer the casting priest over others, then pick the player closest to the targeted location. If there are no players where it is targeted, it will still create a feather that can be picked up, as before. Additionally, when collecting multiple feathers, the duration will be extended, instead of replaced.

New Shadow Mastery

  • Mental Anguish – Increases the damage of Mind Blast, Mind Spike, Mind Flay, and Mind Sear by 20%.

Angelic Feathers

  • Angelic Feathers, if cast on players, will always prefer the casting priest over others, then pick the player closest to the targeted location. If there are no players where it is targeted, it will still create a feather that can be picked up, as before. Additionally, when collecting multiple feathers, the duration will be extended, instead of replaced.

Spell Changes

The mid-level Heal has been removed. Greater Heal has been renamed to Heal.

Prayer of Mending from multiple Priests can now be on the same target (and can be on multiple targets from the same Priest.

Atonement for Discipline is being adjusted. It heals for 25% less.

Binding Heal has been removed for Discipline (but remains for Holy).

Spirit Shell was briefly removed but has returned.

Power Infusion only increases spell haste (Not damage).

Chakras have been altered. The bonus from the Chakra itself is being transferred to the Holy Word spells.

  • Chakra: Serenity now increases healing of single-target spells by 10% (down from 25%).
  • Holy Word: Serenity now heals for 40% more than before.
  • Chakra: Sanctuary now increases healing of area-of-effect spells by 10% (down from 25%).
  • Holy Word: Sanctuary now heals for 60% more than before.
  • Rapid Renewal no longer reduces the global cooldown of Renew.

Holy Nova is now a Discipline specialization spell. The healing has been increased and the mana cost lowered. It’ll be the go-to efficient AoE healing spell.

Class perks

These perks can only be earned from level 91 to level 99.
