Ony is a sweeeeet fight! Sadly, I have no need for the sweet dagger that drops, as I alreayd have the Ulduar mace from razorscale. I don’t really have much need for any of the gear that drops from her actually… what did you think about the new drops from Ony?

I’m thrilled at the change…to the Black Heart animation. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a heart attack thinking I’d just HoP’d the main tank!

Never did Ony in the old style, we had some fun with her last night before server instability cut us off. Looking forward to getting in there and taking her down. It doesn’t seem like an overly difficult fight, but that Deep Breath — ouch!

I just wanted to say that i stumbled across your blog one night by accident at work and have loved it ever since. I am a fairly new WOW player as i have only been playing for about 5 months..i have a level 69 priest who is working his way hopefully to begin raiding one day.

This new patch has definetly sparked my excitement as i can remember the days i used to watch my brother Raid Molten Core and BWL for hours. Wipe after Wipe untill they finally beat it and got in on farm. I didnt want to play then becuase i thought it was a nerd’s game. Oh how wrong i was lol.. I am yet to ever raid but am very excited becuase of all the things i have read on this site in regards to raiding. Thank You all for your informative post and i will continue to follow the World of Matticus

Like you Onyxia was my first real experience with raiding and I’m looking forward to experiencing the encounter again. I’ve even dusted off my original main and gotten her raid ready so I can get myself an updated Nemesis helm.

My BM Hunter is very excited, there is even a slight buff to Volley. My Warrior is slightly happy. And I wanna see Ony. I can take or leave all the non combat pets.

I’m not overly excited about the return of Ony – while she too was my first real raid experience, and where I cut my teeth on raid leading, I’m just not excited at the thought of going back for another round. The ilvl of the gear isn’t over what we’re farming in 10 man ToC, or pugging in 25 ToC (from what I’ve seen). and the thought of teaching folks that fight again (since many have never seen her in her original glory) just makes me cringe.
