Say Hello to Lodur

For the past month, I’ve been on the look out for Shaman and Paladin contributors. I’m happy to say that I’ve found a Shaman  I’d like to take this time to introduce Lodur!

Lodur is a Restoration Shaman who is currently an officer in the guild Unpossible on Zul’jin as well as their current Healer Lead. He is helping to push his guild through the current end game and is helping to prepare them for Ulduar and beyond. The Shamanistic one has been a gamer for over 15 years and has experience ranging from pen and paper role playing games all the way through the games of today. In World of Warcraft he has been around since the beta first hit, and has experienced the game from level 1 through end game many times over on different toons, and from different perspectives. He is an active member of the of the healing community at PlusHeal, and thoroughly enjoys the craft of healing.

This Shaman blogger from Way of the Totem who answered a call to contribute at World of Matticus hopes to highlight the shaman class while providing pertinent information for up and coming shamans. He also intends to use his experiences in game to help healers and raiders alike, while still having fun along the way.

Good to hear from another player that’s had a prolific amount of experience in the game thus far. Both the crit/haste article and the Patchwerk article were enlightening to me as a first time shaman healer.

I’m particularly intrigued by the Mythology of the Shaman article. As a lore nut job, both in WoW and Norse mythos, consider my interest extremely piqued…

Hi, good to see a shaman added to the bloggers here, I already have a question for you too actually :)

Can shamans make good MT or OT healers, as in to the same standard of other healing classes?

Thank you for the warm welcome =D. I’m more then happy to be around more often and I hope I can keep you guys entertained throughout it all.

@Mera: You ask a very good question right off the bat! I like it. I’m going to answer you two fold here. Firstly I’m going to offer you an answer right away. The short version is Yes, I think Shaman can make a good MT or OT healer, but I believe there are certain conditions which make the role harder for us compared to other healers.

The long answer is something a bit more complicated. As a result I’ve decided to dedicate a post to this in the coming week. =D Check back for a more complete answer this week.

Now that you’re contributing here more often does that mean that you won’t have the time to answer my silly questions in-game? :)

Grats Lodur! I know you love explaining shamanism to new people and I’m sure you will make the most of your new platform!

Yay! I was excited to see your posts on Matticus, and am glad to see that other new shamans will have an obvious place to look for some info. (It took me awhile to find Way of the Totem!)

    Hello Lodur :D

I was actually thinking the other day “Matticus should keep Lodur around full time” and no that’s not just because my main is a shaman :P

    Looking forward to your posts!
