At least, that’s according to Siha’s Inscription guide. If you’re planning on becoming a glyph maker and picking up this profession, consider this an excellent starting point. If you’re the farmer and want to know what to stock pile, according to Siha:
Shopping List
The bottom line: based on all of the above, here’s what you’ll need to level Inscription as high as possible when 3.0.2 goes live.
- 150x Earthroot, Peacebloom, or Silverleaf
- 60x Briarthorn, Bruiseweed, Mageroyal, Stranglekelp, or Swiftthistle
- 150x Grave Moss, Kingsblood, Liferoot, or Wild Steelbloom
- 140x Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Khadgar’s Whisker, or Wintersbite
- 210x Arthas’ Tears, Blindweed, Firebloom, Ghost Mushroom, Gromsblood, Purple Lotus, or Sungrass
- 350x Dreamfoil, Golden Sansam, Icecap, Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom
- 360x Any Outland herbs
That’s a lot of grass to stockpile.

I'm Matticus and I play a Dwarf Priest. My home is in Conquest, a raiding Guild that I have founded. Every week, I log 12 hours raiding on Ner'Zhul.
Wynthea is the Troll Priest with the best Mohawk on Nazjatar. Currently, I raid 5 nights a week, and PvP occasionally. I started playing WoW in May 2005, and raiding end-game in May 2007. My guild is currently working through 25-man WotLK content. I've tried playing other classes, but Priests are my passion. I am extremely fond of Dwarves.... especially with Ketchup.
My name is Sydera and I like to heal things--think Florence Nightingale with foliage. I play a night elf druid on Ner'Zhul, and I raid 12 hours a week. As a guild officer for Conquest, I coordinate healing and recruit new raiders. I started playing WoW in Fall 2005, and it was love at first click. Before I discovered the joys of Broccoli-stalk healing, I raided as a holy paladin, and I now have alts in all healing classes. I have to say, though, bark beats poofy dresses and heavy plate in my book.

For my DK inscription, a bit of market speculation, and just for some collectible fun I’ve been levelling my two mini-alts (a L38 Warrior and Lock) as Miners/Herbalists. I bought a guild bank tab on my bank alt to house them, and have set aside a goal of 100 of every herb in the game. It’s actually been kind of fun to see my ‘herb garden’ grow.
I’d been selling the mining output, but have decided to go Blacksmithing for the DK’s other trade, so I suppose I’ll be buying another guild bank tab to house me metals and stones. Glad to see the Inscriiption mats guide, and sweet coincidence to have the blacksmithing one right below it.

How has inscriptions turned out? Is it useful? Should someone be picking it up? Is it difficult to level it and get the “recipes”? Basically, I am really interested in it, and I am wondering if I should pick it up. How useful is it for a priest? Is it worth the work to farm those mats?
