6 Principles of a Successful Raiding Guild: A Teaser

There’s a contest being held by Slideshare that I fully intend on entering.
I’ve been working on this for a while anyway so I figured I might as well go ahead and enter it once I finish. Here’s a few teaser slides that I’ve had so far. I think one can easily get the gist of the main story I’m trying to tell.
Why a presentation format?
I’m always interested in exploring new ways to share ideas and concepts. Other bloggers have released action videos, some decide to do podcasts, and I wanted to try something that hasn’t really been done before.
Second, I’m a student. As a student, you’re exposed to presentations on a daily basis. Eventually, you have to stand up and give your own. Some of the lectures and presentations given by my fellow student and teachers are jammed full of text. This is my way of learning how to use Keynote without putting a grade on the line.

I'm Matticus and I play a Dwarf Priest. My home is in Carnage, a raiding Guild. Every week, I log 11 hours raiding on Ner'Zuhl.
Wynthea is the Troll Priest with the best Mohawk on Nazjatar. Currently, I raid 5 nights a week, and PvP occasionally. I started working toward end-game in May 2007, and my guild is currently working through Sunwell. I've tried playing other classes, but Priests are my passion; I've found our racial spells an endless source of fun and frustration. I am extremely fond of Dwarves.... especially with Ketchup.
My name is Sydera and I like to heal things--think Florence Nightingale with foliage. I play a night elf druid on Vek'nilash-US, and I raid 12 hours a week. As a guild officer for Collateral Damage, I coordinate healing and recruit new raiders. I started playing WoW in Fall 2005, and it was love at first click. Before I discovered the joys of Broccoli-stalk healing, I raided as a holy paladin, and I now have alts in all healing classes. I have to say, though, bark beats poofy dresses and heavy plate in my book.
Hey Matticus, i love the presentation idea. I’m a blood elf priest on Spinbreaker and ever since i found your blog I’ve been in love with it. I’m so excited to see how the full presentation comes out. Keep up the good work.
I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
I wish my professors could make slides like you.
Can’t wait to see it!

Teaser slides look good. I’m always looking for was to coax more progression out of our “causal” raiding guild. Maybe you can touch on that.

Hey Matt,
Sounds like a cool idea. And great way to learn to use a presentation program. I like Keynote, but since it’s a Mac program, not as many people use it as Powerpoint. If you really want to be considered seriously for the contest though, you might want to flesh out your presentation. Last year’s winner had 67 slides.
