Are You Kidding Me?!

Have you seen the test realm notes? Can you believe that they’re doing this to me? This is absolutely outrageous! All that hardwork and then they decide to step on everything I’ve accomplished. I invested so much time and effort in learning my skills!

Of course, I am obviously referring to:

Monstrous Kaliri have learned how to chase players going straight up.

Now I’m really screwed in dailies! Can I get at least chaff or flares or some kind of countermeasures or SOMETHING? Sometimes, I wear my Benediction staff in the hopes that the sparkles that fly out the back end are enough to blind those friggin’ birds.

you took the post right out of my fingers

I totally missed that, but on the other hand, I don’t read patch notes that carefully.

But Yes! Make Dogfight Fireworks for aerial battles, add Afterburner (engineered or cooked, I don’t mind) buyable with Skettis rep, and we’ll be fighting for “The Flying Ace” title in no time.

Seriously, Skettis is too crowded anyway, and it’s not like this makes things that much harder. I’ve also noticed that with Epic Flying Mount, the ‘flying straight up’ doesn’t always work, even now.

Absoloutely the first thing I commented on when my guild leader posted the notes to our forums. Damn overgrown pidgeons!

Guess I might have to invest in one of those parachute cloaks the Skyguard sell :/

well narf. stupid birds and their stupid bird man friends. I guess ol’ slow-flying-mount me will need to stock up on light feathers again.

    *grumble*

    l2bird form, noobs!

    =P

@ Karthis – roflmao. Indeed this is imba for droods.

Totally agree with Matticus though, this is a horrible change for anybody who doesn’t have an epic mount. My fund for raid consumables has just got a whole lot poorer 8-(

Meh, the perks of being a tank! Not getting dismounted by these. Ever!

  8. Kestrel on February 10th, 2008 10:13 am

Bleh. I don’t do these often enough on Osprey (thank Elune for his Netherwing Drake!), but I think the times will be fewer.

And it isn’t all that fun with the rogues or hunter either!

Ah, Teispor. So true. Nothing like trying to teach my boyfriend the fly up and down technique to lose kaliri, and have him just look at me blankly and say “but I never GET dismounted!”

    …you crazy tanks.

  10. Galoheart on February 10th, 2008 9:02 pm

I’ve never been dismounted by those crazy birds. A hamstring maybe, a hit I blocked it but never dismounted. Epic mount and Crusader Aura win!

If I get chased by the birds I just fly out towards and pass the zone edge, not too soon it stops following.

From someone who attempts to complete the daily cooking quest without an epic flyer, this is bad news for me. Now all the people in Skettis for non-cooking dailies will be forced to kill these annoying birds when they dismount them, leaving less for me. On the other hand, I can’t catch aggro on one of them to save my life since I’m too slow! Time to win the WoW lotto and get my epic flyer fund going.

Can you still strafe and fly up though?

    Those birds are a pita

oh, to be OP and Druish.

haha god I hate those Kaliris.

I play a priest on Barthilas with my herbalism alt as a druid. The birds aren’t a problem on the druid seeing as I can just run away from them until they de-aggro (they can’t remove druids from flight form), but on my priest they are a complete nightmare.
